Knowledge City is the winning project of the competition organized by the Antonia Guerrero Foundation in order to build an international reference educational and cultural center.
The intervention approaches the magnificent setting of the plot located above the city of Estepona to create a new landmark in the landscape overlooking the bay of Malaga. The project is organized in two parts: a base that houses the Museum of languages, the auditorium, the 3D cinema, planetarium, cafe and shop and a tall building which houses the library, classrooms, restaurant and offices. A carved glass reinforced concrete panel and a punched lattice, both with alphabetic motifs, are the “building skins” that surround the base and the building height respectively.
