The use of the information and communication technologies applied to the teaching, the emergence of new methodologies and ways of learning and the transformation of modes of interaction between student-teacher are some of the realities of change that require universities to create new virtual and physical infrastructures for education.
Nomad classroom is an architectural solution that seeks to respond to the changing educational landscape. It is an open platform for interaction, participation and learning that was designed as a project for innovation in support of the candidacy of the University of Almería in order to obtain the status of Campus of International Excellence.
The proposal is the implementation of these classrooms in different locations on the campus of the University of Almería connected with by a developer system, called Sustainable Network. In addition to serving as a basis for classroom facilities, this aims to revitalize and regenerate the campus. In this case, the project proposes to “bring” the seafront to the university spreading the campus through the sea promenade that faces the bay of Almería.
