The proposed site by Torrox City Council to build an ambitious sports complex is a vacant spot with excellent views of the sea, which is surrounded by farming plots. In order to create an entity with a distinct identity from the immediate environment and reduce the visual impact at ground level, the proposal is implemented at a lower height than the rest takin advantage of the slight slope of the site.
The complex consists of a regulatory Olympic athletics area which includes running tracks, long and high jump area, pole vault area, throwing area and football pitch. The grandstand, partially protected by a canopy, is situated on the west side. In exercise of simplification project, the program of required services and equipment are integrated inside the same structure: locker rooms, offices, ticket office, cafeteria, stores and gym.
The chosen building and structural types in the stands are imposed to implement the remaining elements under the criteria of standardization, prefabrication, ease and speed of assembly, etc.
